Last Updated: July 22, 2025
Mandatory Counseling and Waiting Period
-
Near-total abortion ban; no counseling or waiting period because virtually all abortions are prohibited except for a life threat. However, providers can legally refer out of state.
Parental Consent for Minors
-
No abortions allowed for minors (or adults) within the state. Exceptions are extremely limited.
Gestational Limits
-
Abortions are banned, with narrow exceptions for life-threatening cases, rape, or incest.
Out‑of‑State Considerations
-
Traveling out of state is the only option for almost all patients. Healthcare providers can refer across state lines. Use provider search tools and reach out early. For help, call the NAF Hotline.
